Inp.polri.go.id - Elelim. The Chief of the Yali-Yalimo Tribe, Akulak Lagoan, raised his gratitude to the Damai Cartenz Task Force for the arrest of Aske Mabel, a former police officer who deserted his post.
“We are deeply grateful to the Damai Cartenz Task Force for capturing Aske Mabel and recovering the stolen weapons. This arrest has restored peace in Yalimo,” he said during an interview in Honita Village, Elelim District, over the weekend
Lagoan emphasized that Mabel’s arrest has brought in a sense of security to the region and called for continued peace to support Yalimo’s long-term development.
“May God bless the task force wherever they serve,” he added.
Mabel was arrested on Wednesday, at 6.30 am local time in Abenaho District, Yalimo Regency. He was known for terrorizing local communities after fleeing with four firearms from the Yalimo Sub-regional Police in Papua Mountains, causing widespread fear.
