Inp.polri.go.id - Makassar. Acting South Sulawesi Governor Bahtiar Baharuddin said on Saturday (4/5/2024) that approximately 12,000 residents were impacted by the recent floods in Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi

The South Sulawesi administration has distributed rice and drinking water, relocated a water treatment unit and communal kitchen from Kota Belopa in Luwu to Siwa in Wajo to address the urgent needs of affected residents, he said.

Residents are struggling to access clean water, prompting efforts to provide water treatment facilities, according to antaranews.com.

A Flood Disaster Integrated Post has been established to provide assistance to the injured and serve as an emergency health center.

The team has served 35 flood victims today, addressing complaints such as pain and itching due to mud.

"We relocated basic health services here because the health center is still submerged and are ready to refer patients to hospitals if needed," explained Dr. Susanny Said, the Head of Pitumpanua Health Center.
