Inp.polri.go.id - Jambi. The Jambi Regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit  investigated a reported case of car loan scam that has allegedly victimized 23 residents in Jambi. The total loss suffered by the 23 victims is IDR 23 billion, and authorities suspected there may be more victims. "We have received the reports. We are currently investigating the fraud reported to the Criminal Investigation Unit. Please give us some time while we complete the investigations and gather evidence," said Senior Superintendent Andri Ananta Yudhistira, the Director of Criminal Investigation of Jambi Regional Police on Wednesday (13/12/23). The victims' lawyer, Beni Ari Feriadi, said the scam involved tempting bonuses offered to the victims. The alleged suspect, identified by the initials AU, allegedly offered the victims the opportunity to buy a car using their own identity. (mg/ri/pr/nm)
