5.1 Magnitude Quake Hits Pacitan, Minimal Damage

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Pacitan regency in East Java was struck by a magnitude 5.1 earthquake, with its epicenter southeast of the regency, at around 6.10 pm on Monday (22/4/2024).

Lasting under 30 seconds, it startled residents, leading some to flee their homes. There were no reports of damage or casualties, according to antaranews.com.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) confirmed the quake's magnitude and location, which was felt across various regions, including Pacitan, Trenggalek, Gunungkidul, and Blitar. 

Erwin Andriatmoko, the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Mitigation (BPBD)  in Pacitan, confirmed the quake, mentioning no reported damage.
