Inp.polri.go.id - Manokwari.  The West Papua Regional Police) has deployed 70  Mobile Brigade (Brimob) members for the Separatist Operation Mansinam 2024 in Maybrat, West Papua.

“The presence of Brimob is to create a secure environment in Maybrat so that residents can go about their activities normally,” Brigadier General Alfred Papare, the  Deputy Chief of West Papua Police, said after the deployment ceremony on Wednesday (24/7/2024). 

The Brimob team will operate under a six-month mission, according to antaranews.com.

The operation aims to address security disturbances caused by armed criminal groups (KKB) and to ensure the safety of the Maybrat community. 

He urged all Brimob personnel to improve security measures and early detection of KKB threats, emphasizing adherence to human rights and legal standards. 

Chief Alfred stressed the importance of community support for the operation and ensuring the return of displaced residents to their homes. In addition to security operation, the Brimob members will also engage in social activities, such as infrastructure repairs, to support local recovery efforts.
