inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko Widodo and the First Lady Iriana invite the people of Indonesia to preserve the local culture during the National Kebaya Day.

He also invites people to love their own culture, which he conveyed through his official instagram account @jokowi on Wednesday (7/24/2024).

“Me and Iriana invites the people of Indonesia to love and embrace kebaya as part of our culture,” he said in his instagram post.

According to him, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will present various versions of kebaya to UNESCO nominations along with other four ASEAN countries.

The aforementioned kebayas include, Labuh kebaya from Sumatra, Kutu Baru kebaya from Java, Noni kebaya from North Sulawesi, Nona kebaya from the eastern region of Maluku and Papua, to the Kerancang kebaya.

“On this National Kebaya Day, let us preserve Kebaya so that our own culture continues to live and be well preserved,” invites Jokowi.

The commemoration of National Kebaya Day was held for the first time this year after the publication of Presidential Decree Number 19 of 2023 concerning National Kebaya Day.
