Joint forces of Indonesian Military Force (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) tightly secures Pegunungan Bintang General Election Commission office ahead plenary session on Thursday February 26th, 2024. This step is to anticipate security disturbances by irresponsible individuals and assure that the democratic process in Pegunungan Bintang to run smoothly. It could be seen that personnel of TNI-INP with full equipment are guarding the sides of the road and checks on anyone who would go towards Bintang Mountains KPU. Pegunungan Bintang Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Dafi Bastomi says that the election security was to provide security for the plenary session to run smoothly and orderly. “We prepare the security as best as we could so that the plenary session would run safely and orderly,” said Dafi. Dafi hopes that public would work together in maintaining security in Bintang Mountain Regency in establishing peaceful and secure situation. Meanwhile, the PR Chief of Damai Cartenz Ops, Superintendent Bayu Suseno says that the involvement of his party in securing the election process was to anticipate dangerous situation that might hinder the plenary session. “Because the election logistics is state important document and part of an effort in assuring the security ahead plenary session in Bintang Mountain,” said Bayu.
