The Australian Government through their ambassador, HE Penny Williams, met with the Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri and Damai Cartenz Operations Chief Senior Superintendent Faizal Ramadhani. During the meeting, Penny deliver the message that the Australian praised the development and security in Papua. “The fast development in Papua and increasing security handling is indeed a positive news and we commend that,” said Penny. Furthermore, Penny also conveyed that the collaboration between Indonesian National Police (INP) and Australian Federal Police (AFP) have been going smoothly. Meanwhile, the Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Mathius are thankful for the praise. Mathius says that 90% of Papua have already been connected, and its security generally remains safe and conducive as the Armed Criminal Group activities is in decline. “In the future, I think we need to have security exchange program so that we can share our knowledge regarding the situation in Papua and Australia,” says the police chief.
