The Minister of Utilization of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas asked State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to maintain the neutrality during 2024 General Elections, one of which includes not giving a like or comments to candidates social media. “ASN are implored to not interact with the candidates in social media, which also includes giving a like or leaving a comment in their post,” says the minister. Azwar states that his party has signed pledges with various institutions in guaranteeing ASN neutrality to maintain the purity of 2024 General Elections. “For ASN neutrality, previously we have signed MoU with General Election Supervisory Body, General Elections Commission, Indonesian National Police Chief, Minister of Home Affairs, and other parties which agrees that ASN must stay neutral,” Azwar said. Azwar and his party have also prepared consequences for the ASN who dares to violates the policy, ranging from just a warning to law enforcement. “We have determined which violation consequences deemed enough to only be issued by warning and those who has to be enforced by the law,” says the minister.
