Inp.polri.go.id - IKN. The Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) is scheduled to make its inaugural run in the Sumbu Kebangsaan area of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) on 5 August 2024, announced Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi.

He said on Monday (29/7/2024) that the ART will operate two lines with three trains each, circulating every 5 minutes from Sumbu Kebangsaan to West Sumbu and East Sumbu during its trial phase.

The ART units, currently in nearby Balikpapan, will be provided for free from August to December 2024, thanks to a collaboration with Chinese state-owned enterprise CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co Ltd and Norinco, according to antaranews.com. 

The service aims to support President Joko “Jokowi Widodo's vision of integrating ART into IKN’s transport system.
