Inp.polri.go.id - Makassar. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in South Sulawesi reported 18 casualties from landslides in Toraja at 4.16 pm on Sunday (14/4/2024).  

The joint Search and Rescue team has evacuated bodies in Makale, Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi. 

Landslides hit Putu Hamlet and Palangka Hamlet on Saturday due to heavy rain and unstable soil. 

Four died in Putu, 14 in Palangka, with two survivors and two missing in each. 

Mexianus Bekabel of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) in Makassar confirmed 24 affected by landslides, with 18 dead, two missing, and four safe. Basarnas continues search and evacuation efforts.
