Inp.polri.go.id - Dogiyai. The police have confirmed that the situation in Dogiyai Regency, Central Papua, has now returned to normalcy after the two-day riots that resulted in injuries to 4 police officers and 1 Indonesian Military member.
"The situation in the jurisdiction of Dogiyai Sub-Regional Police has gradually improved," stated Police Assistant Superintendent Sarraju, the Chief of Dogiyai Sub-Regional Police, on Monday (17/7/23).
He urged all residents and the community to uphold security and public order by refraining from engaging in criminal activities that could harm themselves or others, and to avoid being influenced by unverified rumors, stating, "For those residing outside Dogiyai Regency, please refrain from provoking residents by spreading unverified information."
He said that the police had convened a meeting with the local government officials and community leaders in the aftermath the riots on Saturday (15/7/23). Dogiyai Regent, Petrus Agapa, was also in attendance during the meeting.
"Up until now, neither the local government nor the government agencies have received adequate information regarding the chronological details of the incident, from either the police or the local community," he concluded.
