Head of West Sumba Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Hendra Dorizen, in his opening remarks welcomes the entourage of the visit.

“We are honored for the visit of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Public Relations Division and team to our institution. This is a good chance for us to get the proper instruction and suggestions in improving our work in the Public Relations sector,” says Hendra.

Ariasandy says that police are now demanded to continue improving their public image and stressed the importance of good relations with the press.

He explains that the press has the vital role in spreading the information to the public and must be executed in accordance with Law Number 40 of 1999 concerning the Press.

Ariasandy also cited several articles in the Press Law, such as Article 4 which guarantees press freedom and the right to seek, obtain, and disseminate information.

Furthermore, Ariasandy also underscores the importance of applying public relations to daily activities and to improve police members digital literacy.

“Every police member represents our institutions, both in digital space and not. We have to be careful in our every step and make sure that the good name of the institution is maintained,” concludes Ariasandy.
