Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The government through National Energy Council (DEN) revised the goal for the 2025 New Renewable Energy (EBT) to 17-19 percent from the previous 23 percent. The revision came as new National Energy Policy (KEN) was released. DEN have launched the new Presidential Decree Number 79 of 2014 regarding KEN to adjust with the strategic environment changes that is in line with the commitment in tackling climate changes while accommodating the effort of transition to carbon neutral in 2060. β€œIt was 23 percent in 2023. And in the new KEN, if it is approved by the president, it will be revised to 17-19 percent,” says Head Bureau of Facilitation of Energy Policy and DEN Conference Yunus Saefulhak, Wednesday (1/17/24). Yunus explains that the target shifting around that number was meant to ease the government in achieving the target even in its lowest scenario. In the energy transition roadmap of KEN Revision, it was set that in 2030 the EBT primary energy mix reached 19-21 percent, then in 2040 it would be 25-26 percent, 2050 to 28-41 percent, and to 70-72 percent in 2060.
