Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.   Indonesian policewomen enhanced their efforts to protect women and children in gender-based cases through a comparative study in Chicago, USA.

From 28 to 30 August 2024, a delegation of 14 policewomen visited the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, the Chicago Police Department, and the Cook County Sheriff’s Command Center. Most of the participants were from the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Division and the Human Resources Division.

“We’re here to learn how the U.S. handles cases of violence against women and children,” said Brigadier General Desy Andriani, the leader of the delegation, on Tuesday (3/9/2024)..

The study included discussions on best practices and potential collaboration between agencies in supporting victims of sexual crimes, according to antaranews.com.

General Desy emphasized that this experience not only enriches their knowledge but also reinforces the INP’s commitment to improving law enforcement in Indonesia.

The delegation also attended the International Association of Women Police (IAWP) Conference in Chicago, symbolizing global solidarity among policewomen.
