Indonesian Vice President Ma’ruf Amin said there are three crucial issues that needs to be avoided during 2024 General Elections, which are the spreading of hoax news, hate speech and disinformation around elections, as well as identity politics and money politics. “Those problems would hinder the quality improvement process and the maturity of Indonesian democracy,” says Ma’ruf Amin on Wednesday (11/15/2023). Ahead the 2024 General Election, Ma’ruf Amin considers the current politic tensions is normal and natural. “As it is the dynamics of democratic and as long it is within the legal corridor, well it is all natural. The difference in politic preferences is normal and must be addressed wisely,” counsel Ma’ruf. He invites all parties to jointly work on succeeding the 2024 General Elctions. He hopes that the election would go smoothly with a better participation than those in 2019 with participation level of 81.93 percent. “Everyone holds important role in preserving and improving the democracy quality.
