Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) have deployed water pumps to assist in managing the floods in Central Java, particularly during the on-going rainy season in Central Java. "These water pumps provided by the National Police have a significant capacity to drain floodwaters from toll roads," Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the Chief of the Public Information Bureau of the INP Public Relations Division, said on Monday (18/3/2024). Given Central Java's status as a key destination for travelers during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, with an estimated 193.6 million people on the move, this effort is crucial, he added, as reported by antaranews.com. "We've deployed high-capacity water pumps to alleviate flooding on toll roads," Chief Trunoyudo emphasized. He said that the Traffic Corps of the National Police have devised strategies to anticipate adverse weather conditions that may disrupt inter-island travel. Furthermore, with six districts experiencing flooding along the holiday travel routes in Central Java, the police looked for alternative paths to ensure smooth community activities. "We're seeking alternative routes and providing assistance to ensure uninterrupted activities for the public," he said. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
