INP Holds Journalism Training for Police Spokespersons

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) held a journalism training program for the personnel from the INP Headquarter Public Relations Division personnel and representatives from all regional police forces across Indonesia on Monday (22/5/23). The Head of the Public Relations Division of INP Inspector General Sandi Nugroho said that the objective of the training is to enhance the quality of the police force in dealing with media developments.

Police spokespersons, he added, should possess a keen understanding of various issues in the mass media and adhere to the journalism ethics in providing clear responses to every complex issues reported by the mass media.

During his opening speech, he said, "We hope that through this training, the quality and the competence of the representatives from regional police and INP Headquarters in providing information to the public will be improved."

He also emphasized the the training's significance in honing police's abilities to create engaging and educational content for the public in social media as it has a significant impact on the security and the public order.

"Quality content must adapt to evolving trends and dynamics of algorithm. Informative, inspiring, and beneficial content exemplify positive content that can foster public awareness and reach a broader audience," he concluded.
