Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps Chief, Inspector General Aan Suhanan prepares planning for Eid Al-Fitr homecoming traffic engineering during bad weather. When bad weather occurred, causing the port to be closed, vehicles on Tangerang-Merak Toll Road will be diverted to arterial road. Furthermore, ASDP Indonesia Ferry is also forbidden from selling the ticket until the weather returns to normal. “We will release all vehicles to arterial road and stopped them from going to Merak. We will also coordinate with ASDP parties to stop their ticket selling during our contingency plan,” says INP Traffic Corps on Thursday (3/14/2024). During the peak of the homecoming flow, police also prepares various traffic engineering to anticipate congestions. If inside the Merak Port is already crowded, the person responsible in the port will coordinate with the police for the implementation of traffic engineering. The implementation of traffic engineering will also adapt to the developing situation in the port. Furthermore, if the three ports in Banten, Merak Port, Ciwandan Port, and Bandar Bakau Jaya Port, are crowded even caused long queue, upper Cikuas road, Buffer Zone, and Rest Are will be shifted to parking lots. Then, the delaying system will be applied to hold the vehicles from going quickly into the port. (ad/rz/pr/nm)
