Jakarta Traffic Was on Decline During ASN WFH, Transportation Department Reports

Head of the Transportation Department, Syafrin Liputo says the traffic volume has declined 0.63% for three months, the moment when half the state civil apparatus (ASN) was on Work From Home (WFH). “The average of traffic volume when half ASN was on WFH is 6,800,992 vehicle/day or declined 0,63%, than the previous 6,843,838 vehicle/day,” says Liputo quoted from Antara on Tuesday (10/24/2023). Jakarta provincial government previously has implemented WFH policies to half Jakarta ASN on August 21st to October 20th, 2023. The WFH policy then extended to September 4th-7th, 2023. Moreover, Jakarta also limit public transportation operation in highway from September 5th-7th, 2023 in accordance to Statement Letter from the Head of the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency to suppress the numbers of traffic jam and air pollution. Jakarta Transportation Department also compare the traffic situation on August 21st-31st, September 1st-30th, October 1st-20th with the average volume of daily traffic before ASN WFH, which is on July 1st-31st, 2023. The average traffic volume data was taken from 49 traffic counting censor points of Jakarta Transportation Department. The average traffic volume during morning peak hours, 06:00 – 10:00, during ASN WFH was 1,829,492, while on July the average traffic volume was 1,856,975. The data shows there was a decrease for 1.48%. Meanwhile, the average traffic volume during evening peak hours, 16:00 – 20:00, during ASN WFH was 1,739,979, while the average traffic volume prior ASN WFH was 1,748,020, a decrease for 0.46% (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
