Inp.polri.go.id - Labuan Bajo. The 42nd ASEAN Summit is being held with tight security measures in place, as the Preventive Task Force Ops Komodo 2023 conducted patrols in the Labuan Bajo area of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as a preemptive measure against potential security threats.

The patrols, consisting of personnel from the Indonesian Military Police, Mobile Brigade Corps, Samapta Unit, and K-9 Unit, were led by Brigadier General Rudi Antariksawan, the commander of Preventive Task Force Ops Komodo 2023.

Speaking to reporters on Monday (8/5/23), he explained, "We are conducting joint Indonesian Military-Indonesian National Police (INP) patrols as a precaution against nighttime vulnerability."

As the delegations have arrived, conducting security patrols at night is crucial to ensure that no unwanted incidents occur, he added.

"Our goal is to secure vital areas in preparation for the ASEAN Summit. We will perform our duties and communicate with officers and the local community in a professional and cordial manner," he concluded.
