inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko Widodo asked the regions around Nusantara Capital City (IKN), East Kalimantan, to support food needs in the IKN.

"The IKN itself is not finished yet, maybe it will be in 10 or 15 years. This means that the provinces around the IKN, the regencies/cities around the IKN must prepare themselves," said President Jokowi on Thursday (9/26/2024).

President Jokowi notes that the need for vegetables, fruits and rice to be supplied from areas around the IKN. 

If the needs are not met from East Kalimantan Province, President Jokowi said that food needs for the IKN can also be supplied from other provinces.

However, President Jokowi said that East Kalimantan Province should be able to support food needs for the IKN without having to supply from other provinces.

"If it is not enough, it means we have to request it from other provinces. However, the food supplies from East Kalimantan Province, supported by regencies around IKN, should be enough, both fruit, vegetables, rice, and other basic ingredients so that it can provide economic benefits to the community," explained President Jokowi.
