inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo estimates that the construction of Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan will be completed at around 10 to 15 years from now.

“Indeed we still need more time. This project began at around 2021-2022, and I think it will be completed in 10 to 15 years from now,” said Jokowi on Tuesday (8/13/2024).

The president says that the current progress for IKN construction is only at 20%. He underscores that the construction of IKN will not only cover the Central Core Government Area (KIPP), such as the Presidential Palace, Coordinating Ministry offices and ministry offices, but there are also various facilities that will be built such as hospitals, universities, and hotels.

“Outside the KIPP there are many facilities that we will also build such as hotels, universities, and hospitals. As I recall, there are six hotels that will be built soon, same goes for the hospitals. Then, there is also a PSSI training center that has been completed, while the construction for housing and other supporting facilities have begun its work,” explains Jokowi.
