inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko Widodo inaugurates the Leuwikeris Dam in Cineam District, Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java Province on Thursday (8/29/2024).

The inauguration of Leuwikeris Dam, which is located in Tasikmalaya Regency, was signed directly by President Joko Widodo and marked with the installment of a replica of the kujang as a typical weapon of West Java.

“On this day, we inaugurated Leuwikeris Dam as well as modernization and rehabilitation of irrigation areas in West Java Province," said President Jokowi, Thursday (29/8/24).

President Jokowi conveys the meaning of water as the source of life, and water as the symbol of balance and harmony. If water cannot be managed well, it would be a disaster as without water, there are no lives, no food.

He also said that water potential must be managed well because every drop of water has a valuable value in providing benefits for life. "Therefore, water must be managed well because every drop is very, very valuable," explained President Jokowi.
