inp.polri.go.id - Mamuju. The Search and Rescue of West Sulawesi Regional Police Marine and Air Directorate found the Mitra Pesisir Ship in Lamudaan waters on Thursday (7/25/2024).

Previously reported, the Mitra Pesisir ship, with the crew of six, was experiencing trouble, causing the ship's machine to shut down and lose contact.

The Director of the West Sulawesi Marine and Air Unit, Senior Superintendent Deny Pudjianto says that on Thursday July 17th, 2024 at 11.50 pm, his party received a report from fishermen that they found the ship.

“We then immediately contacted the Indonesian National Police (INP) Marine and Air Unit ship and Search and Rescue Agency who were on station at West Sulawesi waters to immediately go to the location,” said Deny.

Deny also deployed his best personnel to the location to respond to the fishermen report.

“Thankfully, after more than a week the ship has gone missing, we finally found it. The Mitra Pesisir ship was stranding in Lamudaan Waters, around 180 km from Mamuju. The ship was found on Thursday (7/25/2024) at around 17.00 p.m,” report Deny.

Denny also conveyed that the six ship crews survived and immediately evacuated to the village chief’s house for further treatment.
