inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy enhance their collaboration with regional governments to develop tourism infrastructure, particularly in developing the concept of Blue Economy, Green, and Circular Economy (BGCE).
“During this session, we will discuss how to boost our tourist destination based on green development. We and the provincial tourism office and the district/city office, are determined to ensure that tourist destinations are always clean in accordance with Sapta Pesona," said the Minister's Expert Staff for Business Development, Dadang Rizki Ratman.
On the other hand, Deputy for Waste Management and Hazardous and Toxic Waste at the Ministry of Environment, Vinda Damayanti, said that tourism area managers are urged to actively deposit their waste to the nearest waste bank so that it can be properly managed.
She said this step is part of the concrete actions for the implementation of the BGCE program. This program prioritizes the principle of sustainability through waste management based on a circular economy.
Vinda further said that waste management is not only the responsibility of the government or the Ministry of Environment alone. However, it is necessary to collaborate with local governments, producers as business actors, and visitors or the community.
"In the future, the division of roles and obligations related to waste management, especially in tourism areas, must be arranged," he concluded.
