inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman emphasized his commitment to guaranteeing that MSMEs remain competitive amidst the government's budget efficiency policy for the 2025 fiscal year.

In his steps, Maman prepared a number of concrete strategies and steps such as evaluating the People's Business Credit (KUR) program, collaboration with various stakeholders, and the formation of an MSME holding to increase the competitiveness of local products.

"This KUR is an extraordinary program, but it often just runs without strict evaluation. As a result, many MSMEs have difficulty accessing funds due to obstacles such as collateral for small loans or quotas that run out quickly," explained the Minister of MSMEs Maman Abdurrahman on Thursday (2/13/2025).

For this reason, his party designed a stricter monitoring system, where the distribution of KUR will be evaluated every two months in various regions, and invited Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives to be involved in supervising the distribution of KUR.

"This step was taken so that supervision is not only carried out at the central level, but also down to the area manager level, to ensure that the distribution of KUR really runs according to the needs of MSMEs," said the Minister of MSMEs.

Maman also emphasized the importance of collaboration with various parties to strengthen the MSME ecosystem.

One of the strategic steps that will be taken is to collaborate with the Ministry of Manpower in providing training for MSME entrepreneurs.

He explained that rather than building new training centers, his ministry will utilize job training centers (BLK) that are already spread throughout Indonesia.

With this approach, training for SMEs can run more efficiently, without having to burden the budget with the construction of new infrastructure.

"We and the Ministry of Manpower have agreed to carry out a joint collaboration program to hold SME training by utilizing job training centers," said Maman.

On the other hand, he also assessed that the involvement of large companies and State-owned Companies in supporting MSMEs is still Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and has not become part of a long-term business strategy.

"We encourage the concept of business to business, where MSMEs do not only receive temporary assistance, but become part of the supply chain of large industries. Thus, connectivity between MSMEs and large companies can be better maintained and sustainable," concluded Minister Maman.
