Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP) has announced that they are considering whether an investigation should be conducted regarding the alleged leakage of the Constitutional Court's (MK) decision concerning the electoral system. This disclosure came following his participation in a national coordination meeting on the 2024 elections held today (29/5/2023).

He emphasized the importance of assessing the potential impact on the national situation arising from the alleged leakage of the MK's decision and if it has the potential to cause controversy, an investigation will be conducted.

During his address in the meeting, he elaborated on the matter, "According to what was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs to prevent prolonged controversy, we would undertake investigative measures to bring clarity to the incident if the situations allow it. Currently, we are engaging in the discussions to determine the appropriate course of action."

He clarified that if there is no indication of criminal involvement, an investigation will not be pursued.

"However, if there is evidence of a criminal involvement, we will take the necessary steps," he concluded.
