Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation to address various challenges in the Asia-Pacific region.

"Parliamentary collaboration can be used to share experiences and best practices to find joint solutions, as parliaments bridge the gap between public aspirations and policy," President Jokowi said on Thursday (25/7/2024).

He praised the strategic partnership between Indonesia and Pacific parliaments, noting its importance in strengthening ties amid major challenges like economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, climate change, and other crises.

President Jokowi highlighted three critical areas needing urgent attention, namely climate change, blue economy and human resource development.

He called for continued development and collaboration to maximize potential and improve regional welfare, fostering a spirit of mutual respect and trust among nations.
