Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo emphasized the urgent need to strengthen Indonesia's anti-corruption framework, covering preventive measures, licensing systems, and internal supervision, during the World Anti-Corruption Day 2023 event at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/12/23). He highlighted government initiatives, such as the e-Katalog app by the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP) and the Online Single Submission (OSS) system for risk-based business permits, to bolster anti-corruption efforts. "When I first took office, the e-Katalog had 50 thousand items. Now, the Head of LKPP reports 7.5 million items listed. The progress is remarkable," he noted. President Jokowi credited the One Map Policy for addressing spatial overlaps, agrarian conflicts, and the online tax system, creating an environment resistant to corruption. He also emphasized the significance of the Mineral and Coal Information System (Simbara) and announced plans to develop similar systems for nickel and bauxite, enhancing control over natural resource exploitation and exportation to minimize corruption. President Jokowi urged legislative measures for strengthening regulations in corruption eradication, stating, "The Asset Forfeiture Law is crucial as it serves as a mechanism for recovering state losses. I hope the government and House of Representatives can swiftly engage in discussions and finalize this law." In his concluding remarks, President Jokowi invited everyone to collaborate in preventing corruption and instilling a deterrent effect on officials engaged in corrupt practices. (ar/inp/pr/nm)
