Racer Andi Farid Izdihar, also known as Andi Gilang, won the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) 2024 ASB1000 class opener held at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand, on Sunday (17/3/2024). Starting from second position, Andi maintained his lead throughout the 13-lap race, battling against top contenders Japanease Yuki Kuni and  Malaysian Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah. This win marks Andi's second triumph at the Buriram circuit in the ASB1000 class, following his success in the ARRC 2023 closing series last December. Reflecting on his victory, Andi said, "It was an amazing race, fantastic. I tried to move forward at the beginning, but I was still a bit off, and I just waited for the right moment and did my best." Andi currently leads the standings in the ARRC 2024 ASB1000 class with 45 points, followed by Azlan with 36 points and Nakarin Atiratphuvapat with 25 points. The second series of ARRC 2024 is set to take place from April 19-21, 2024, at the Zhuhai International Circuit, China. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
