Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Expects Golden Visa to be Able to Boost the Sector

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno hopes that the Golden Visa launched by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo could boost investment in Indonesian tourism and creative economy.

“The regulation that has been developed since 2022 and finalized in 2023 has finally been launched today. I have received reports that there are many enthusiastic about this new policy, and I have communicated with the related authorities. Our expectation is that this would boost the number of investments in the tourism and creative economy sector,” explains Minister Sandiaga on Thursday (7/25/2024).

Golden Visa is a new form of second home visa that targets investors and international entrepreneurs, global talents, and foreign tourism who have met the criteria.

The foreign investors who owned the Golden Visa can have a residence permit in Indonesia for five to 10 years with certain investment amount requirements.

He says that there are many American, European, Middle-Eastern people who have shown their interest with the Golden Visa and want to invest in the tourism and creative economy sector.

Meanwhile, President Jokowi said that the government launched the Golden Visa so it would foreign citizens could invest and work in Indonesia.

However, he stressed that the Golden Visa would only be given to good quality travelers, so the government will intensively monitor and tightly select the potential applicants before handing over the Golden Visa.
