TPPO Cases Uncovered in Various Regional Police Offices, INP Reports

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In a one-week operation from June 6 to 11, 2023, the Indonesian National Police (INP) successfully arrested 212 suspects involved in human trafficking crimes (TPPO) across the country.

Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, the Head of the Public Affairs Bureau at the INP's Public Relations (PR) Division, revealed that the enforcement actions were carried out in various regional police offices. Notably, there were 15 cases in North Kalimantan Regional Police, 7 cases in North Sumatra Regional Police, 4 cases in West Sumatra Regional Police, 4 cases in Riau Regional Police, 5 cases in Riau Islands Regional Police, 3 cases in Jambi Regional Police, 3 cases in South Sumatra Regional Police, 5 cases in Bengkulu Regional Police, 1 case in Lampung Regional Police, 5 cases in Banten Regional Police, 4 cases in Jakarta Metro Regional Police, 36 cases in West Java Regional Police, 25 cases in Central Java Regional Police, 4 cases in East Java Regional Police, 4 cases in Bali Regional Police, 4 cases in West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, 5 cases in East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, 26 cases in West Kalimantan Regional Police, 25 cases in East Kalimantan Regional Police, 2 cases in South Sulawesi Regional Police, 1 case in North Sulawesi Regional Police, 1 case in Central Sulawesi Regional Police, and 1 case in Papua Regional Police.

During a press conference on Monday (12/6/23), he stated, "This enforcement action was based on 190 reports received from various regional police offices."

Furthermore, he provided detailed information on the TPPO cases, revealing a total of 824 victims. Among them, 370 were adult females, 42 were female children, 389 were adult males, and 23 were male children.

In terms of the modus operandi employed, the cases involved 157 instances of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) or Domestic Helpers (PRT), 3 cases of Seafarers (ABK), 24 cases of Commercial Sex Workers (PSK), and 3 cases of child exploitation.
