inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Vice President Ma’ruf Amin urges the distribution of zakat is on target in combating poverty in the country.

“Ensure that the distribution of zakat is on target by looking at the accurate data, particularly on programs that directly aim to combat poverty,” says VP Ma’ruf Amin on Tuesday (7/16/2024).

VP Ma’ruf Amin also wants the benefit of zakat in combating poverty is not only to enable the zakat recipient to escape the extreme poverty level, but to also enable them to become the zakat provider.

“Zakat distribution must be continued to be pushed to be more productive and provide a continuous benefit to the people through people's economic empowerment programs, such as providing capital for micro and small businesses," said the Vice President.

He also highlights the importance in guaranteeing that zakat distribution done by Zakat Management Organization (OPZ) is integrated with accurate data.

Lastly, Ma’ruf Amin also demands that the national zakat management and national development agenda be in harmony and protected to secure continuous development.
