West Java Regional Police Sends Thousands of Personnel to Secure Polling Stations

Inp.polri.go.id – West Java. West Java Regional Police is ready to deploy 19,725 personnel to secure each of the polling stations for the upcoming voting day on February 14th, 2024. The PR Chief Senior Superintendent Ibrahim Tompo explains that of the thousands of personnel prepared, 13,807 of them will be directly dispatched to the polling stations while the rest will serve as backups. “The nineteen thousand personnel have been moved to each polling station, and ready to secure the 118,312 polling stations,” adds the PR Chief. Moreover, Ibrahim assures that police personnel will not get involved with the vote counting as police leaders have instructed members to only secure the polling stations and maintain neutrality, Furthermore, Ibrahim says that his party has mapped the province to determine vulnerability levels, although the province is relatively conducive ahead election calm period and voting day. HOwever, the West Regional Police will remain vigilance against public disturbances occur throughout the election period. “We truly hope that on the voting day, there would be no security issues or riots that would escalate further, as we are aware those are possible during the voting day,” prayed Ibrahim.
