Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) in Banten has been attempting to evacuate two coal miners in Lebak regency.

Head of Basarnas in Banten Adil Triyanto expected to find the victims on Monday (29/4/2024), according to antaranews.com. 

He explained  his office commenced the evacuation efforts shortly after the notification about the incident at 2.02 pm on Sunday.

Basarnas rescue team and the Lebak Search and Rescue Alert Unit jointly engaged in the rescue operation. 

The incident occurred on Saturday when Rohdi (24) entered the mine to retrieve a tool, followed by Irwan (35). 

Their companions discovered a motorcycle key and their sandals at the mine entrance around 4 pm. 

Despite assistance attempts, both miners remained trapped due to a mine wall collapse.
