“We have logged 490 fire incidents from January 1st to August 14th,“says the Acting Head of Jakarta BPBD, Isnawa Aji.

Isnawa Aji says of the total fire incidents, mostly were caused by electricity short circuit with 332 cases.

“Followed by waste burning with 10 cases and others with 13 cases,” said Isnawa Aji.

Head of Jakarta BPBD details that the fire incidents at least have burned down a total of 720 houses, 150 semi-permanent buildings, 25 buildings, 32 warehouses, 212 shopping houses, 34 vehicles, and 46 others.

“The total loss due to the fire incidents are 148,514,350,000 IDR,” explains Isnawa Aji.

Meanwhile, for the fatality report, BPBD says that the fire incident has caused 18 people to lose their lives, with 21 others suffering major injuries and 133 only suffering minor injuries.

“Total refugees due to the fire incidents are 3,012 people,” concludes Isnawa Aji report.
