inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo hopes the stunting prevention effort in Indonesia will continue to get better.

This statement was conveyed by him when visiting the Rajawali III Graha Nendali Integrated Post Service, East Sentani District, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province.

Jokowi noted that the effort in tackling stunting has begun since 10 years ago and now has been showing its promising results.

“Back then, the prevalence of stunting was 37 percent, and now has been going down drastically to 21 percent,” said President Jokowi on Tuesday (7/23/2024).

However, Jokowi admits that the stunting prevalence rate from 21 percent to 14 percent, as is the national target, is going slowly. Which calls for national unity from all parties in the country.

He explains that stunting is closely tied with foods, sanitations, environment, place of living, and clean waters.

“To prevent stunting, we require collaboration with all parties, including the public, to implement a healthy lifestyle,” noted Jokowi.

According to him, the consolidation of healthy lifestyles, such as consuming nutritional food, clean sanitation, preserving a good environment, and having clean homes and waters are continuously socialized by the government.
