Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi appreciates all parties involved for the collaboration and coordination in securing the 2024 Eid Al-Fitr.

“I am proud and appreciate all parties and related stakeholders for the coordination and cooperation so that this year’s Eid could go smoothly,” says the Minister when closing the Central Post of Eid Transportation in the Transportation Ministry Office, Jakarta, on Friday (4/19/2024).

He saw the role and dedication of ministries and related institutions, regional government, media and community have helped assure that the 2024 Eid Al-Fitr goes safely and smoothly.

However, Budi also acknowledges that there are several things that need an evaluation from this year’s Eid. This is due to how significant the increase in traveler’s number compared to last year. According to the Mobile Positioning Data (MPD), on a national scale, there are approximately 242.6 millions of people moving during the Homecoming season.

Furthermore, the number of public transportation usage is also increased compared to 2023. This helps smoothen the traffic flow with the average speed on the road is 70-75 km.

“The number of traffic accidents is also declining while the average speed on the road is increasing, we have to admit this is a positive trend for us,” said Budi before closing the session.
