West Papua Police Chief Ensures Safety After KNPB Members' Arrest

Inp.polri.go.id - Manokwari. The West Papua Regional Police has assured the public that the security and public order situation (kamtibmas) remains safe and well-controlled following the arrest of numerous members of the West Papua National Committee (KNPB).

"Everything is under control and in a secure condition. We have taken swift action against the KNPB group that attempted to incite rebellion," stated Inspector General Daniel Tahi Monang, the Chief of the West Papua Regional Police, in an interview with Antara on Tuesday (13/6/23).

He further explained that despite the situation being secure, they will enhance security measures to ensure community stability. The number of security personnel will be increased accordingly.

"We have deployed Indoesian Military (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) personnel to Tambrauw to maintain security," he added.

He also urged the public not to easily believe in provocative information spread by irresponsible individuals. He concluded that the TNI and INP are fully committed to safeguarding the safety of the people.
